Hi, I'm Jean-Philippe Duchesneau (JP to his friends!).

I'm a tourism entrepreneur, passionate AI speaker and ex-lawyer. I am co-owner of Groupe Écorécréo and Voiles en Voiles.

Prior to my career in tourism, I practiced law for several years, notably as a prosecutor for the United Nations, and founded an agency specializing in internet marketing.

I'm also an AI enthusiast and vice-president of the Artificial Intelligence and Tourism Working Group.

In everyday life, I am co-owner of the Groupe Écorécréo and Voiles en Voilesboth of which operate in the recreation and tourism sector in the Greater Montreal area.

In total, we operate 5 different brands at 15 different sites in Quebec. Each year, we employ over 300 people at all our sites.

Speaker on AI and automation

I'm vice-president of the Artificial Intelligence and Tourism Working Group(iatourisme.com), and I'm having fun putting technology to practical use in my businesses.

I've given nearly forty talks on AI since 2022, in addition to assisting several organizations in their discovery of this technology.

I have also obtained certificates in artificial intelligence from the Harvard Business School Online (AI Essentials for Business) and from theUniversité de Montréal (AI Ethics).

I am a lawyer by training and began my career practicing law and politics for nearly 10 years. I first practiced law with a large firm in Montreal, then went on to work as a political advisor in the offices of the Minister of Justice and the Deputy Premier of Quebec.
I then worked as a federal crown prosecutor for a few years before becoming a United Nations prosecutor in The Hague, Netherlands, at the first United Nations terrorism tribunal.
